Sock Drive Success 2012
On a dark and stormy day in November, an intrepid group of folks from the Clements Centre for Community Living set a daunting goal for themselves – to collect 2,012 pairs of socks by the end of 2012. Due to the generosity of many charitable citizens throughout the Cowichan Valley, we surpassed this goal with flying colours. A special thanks goes out to the Duncan Walmart which donated hundreds of pairs of socks to the cause.
Some of the local beneficiaries of our sock drive were Women Against Violence Against Women, the Warmland Shelter, the House of Friendship Society, the Cowichan Valley Basket Society, the Salvation Army and the Duncan Lion’s Club Sassy Lion.
And how many socks were collected in total? An impressive 2,027 pairs…or… 20,270 toes will be warmer this winter thanks to the Clements Centre Sock Drive. Thank you everyone!
